sq. ft. facility situated on 180 acres - where the company and its
predecessors have designed, built and equipped civil and military
aircraft for over 90 years. In 2019, MRAS was acquired by ST
Engineering North America, the U.S. affiliate of Singapore-based ST
Engineering - becoming a part of its global network of aerospace
facilities and offices. With the ownership change, the company was
renamed Middle River Aerostructure Systems. Role Summary:ST
Engineering Aerospace - Middle River Aerostructure Systems, LLC. is
looking for a Senior Sourcing Manager to interface with the
purchasing team, its' supply base, and site leadership to
effectively deliver hardware on-time, on-quality, and at a
competitive price.In this role, you will manage the Actuation and
Accessories purchasing team in conjunction with the respective
supply chain relationship, from RFP, through contract award and
fulfillment execution to achieve the best contractual conditions,
pricing, terms & delivery, while also ensuring internal and
external customer satisfaction. Job Responsibilities:
- Communicate sourcing plan and commodity strategy requirements
within buying team.
- Coordinate and report on program schedules, priorities, IMS
plans/targets.
- Ensure alignment between buying team and supply chain with
various program build plans.
- Develop cost reduction strategies, inclusive of projects, with
the buying team and the supply chain.
- Assist in driving ramp, capacity and transition plan readiness
with the supply base.
- Provide clear project direction and status with various
stakeholders.
- Stakeholder in the Make/Buy process. Provide data that is
essential to the overall evaluation from the Buy side.
- Interact, integrate and drive results across cross-functional
teams in engineering, supply chain, quality, production, and
executive leadership.
- Drive accountability and support the commodity team to meet and
exceed key metrics (timely requisition placement, MRB reduction,
deflation/inflation mitigation, OTD-delinquency reduction,
etc.).
- Oversee and prioritize risk mitigation strategies (i.e.
multi-source decisions, DTC, cost variance and supply chain
reviews).
- Assess, manage and mitigate risks.
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Develop and drive cost strategy within the Sourcing
Organization, inclusive of cost savings, cost risk mitigation, long
term agreements and leverage opportunities.
- Conduct contract negotiations and reviews.
- Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
- Recruit, onboard, train and mentor new hires. Education,
Experience, and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply
Chain/Logistics, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of supply chain, procurement, logistics, or warehouse
management experience Qualifications / Skills:
- Knowledge in sourcing various commodities, inclusive of but not
limited to: ducting, electrical wiring harnesses, specialized
valves, source controlled hardware, actuation hardware, long lead
hardware, machined, sheet metal, forgings, raw materials, etc.
- Experienced in managing source controlled hardware and life of
program contracts.
- Quick learner with the ability to handle multiple tasks
simultaneously, maintain focus, and adapt to a variety of
challenges.
- Ability to conduct detailed material reviews in a time
constrained environment with supplier leadership.
- Ability to take initiative and responsibility for sourcing
needs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong sense of time organization and urgency.
- Strong analytical skill set mandatory. Prefer advanced
Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint) experience.
- ERP experience is mandatory, SAP preferred.
- Working knowledge of supplier portals.
- Ability to influence others and lead small teams while also
being able to work independently.
- Willingness to travel.
