Pompeian's Early Talent Program is currently offering a summer internship in the Accounting/Finance Department. Baltimore based since 1906, Pompeian, Inc. is the leading national brand of Olive Oil, bestselling vinegars and cooking sprays. The Accounting/Finance department is looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Intern to make an impact on Pompeian's Accounting/Finance department by contributing directly to cost accounting and fixed asset records. This role is on site at Corporate Headquarters at 4201 Pulaski highway in Baltimore. This position will provide the opportunity to learn all aspects of the Accounting/Finance department with an excellent opportunity to become part of the growing talent team and Pompeian family. To learn more about Pompeian please visit--Pompeian.com--and--LinkedIn--Job Responsibilities: ---- Acquire knowledge for the operations at Pulaski headquarters and understand the financial flow of costs through the production plant Accounting/Finance intern will review significant variances of actual vs. standard manufacturing costs while being able breakdown the analysis to department level detail Perform root cause analysis to explain variations while offering solutions to repetitive issues causing variations Update fixed asset records to properly record location and adequate name/information for assets and dispose of any assets no longer physically available
Analyze inventory landing costs to ensure all practical components are considered when comparing to actuals Assist with basic bank audit requests as needed Assist with oil loss tracking during production Ensure all projects comply with company environmental goals
Performs duties per Pompeian's mission, goals and core values
All other duties and tasks assigned ----Requirements:-- Working toward a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
Must be available to work June 3rd August 16th on site at 4201 Pulaski Highway at Pompeian Baltimore Headquarters manufacturing plant Monday-Friday
Basic knowledge of cost accounting principles
Strong Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Skills (Power Query & Power BI skills preferred but not required) High level of organization and ability to manage deadlines
Strong ability to collaborate with all team members
Self-starter and not afraid to take initiative Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
