The Hotel Hershey is situated high atop the town of Hershey and has 326 guest rooms, including 19 Villas with 98 luxury sleeping rooms, as well as 25,000 square feet of meeting and function space. The 1930's hotel is a Historic Hotel of America and a AAA Four-Diamond Award winner. /n This position is responsible for ensuring the safety of the guests and members at the swimming pool(s) at The Hotel Hershey. /n As a Part-Time Team Member, you will enjoy sweet perks like FREE admission and parking to Hersheypark, discounts on food & shopping, and more as soon as you receive your Employee ID! /n Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job): /n /n - /n Overseeing and enforcing swimming pool and attraction rules and safety regulations.* /n /n - /n Anticipating, recognizing, and responding to aquatic emergencies.* /n /n - /n Monitoring equipment and supplies.* /n /n - /n Maintaining work area and surrounding environment.* /n /n - /n Lifeguards must maintain lifeguard and first aid skills at a "test-ready" level at all times.* /n /n - /n Participate in weekly lifeguard in-service training.* /n /n - /n Other job-related duties as assigned. /n /n /n Qualifications: /n /n - /n Must be at least 16 years of age or older on the date of applying. /n /n - /n Must attend and complete the Ellis & Assoc. International Pool and Lifeguard Training Program paid for and provided by the Hershey Entertainment and Resorts properties /n /n - /n Required to complete pre-employment drug testing /n /n /n Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: /n /n - /n Must be able to swim 100 yards using crawl or breaststroke without resting. /n /n - /n Must be able to feet first surface dive and retrieve a 10 lb. brick from a minimum depth of 8 ft. (or the deepest depth of the facility) and bring it to the surface. /n /n - /n Must be able to tread water without using arms for 1 minute. /n /n - /n Must be able to safely exit the pool without the use of stairs, ladders, or zero depth. /n /n - /n Ability to handle stressful working conditions and emergencies, and to accept a high degree of accountability. /n /n - /n Must be in good physical condition. /n /n - /n Must have normal vision (20/25 or 20/25 corrected) /n /n - /n Must be friendly, upbeat, and work well with other employees and be able to interact with our guests. /n /n - /n Must have reliable, steady transportation to and from work. /n /n - /n Must be able to speak, write, and understand English. /n /n - /n Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts. /n /n - /n Must have the ability to safeguard confidential information. /n /n /n Job Demands: /n /n - /n Weekend work schedules are a requirement of this position.
