Job Description:

Telecon is looking for an energetic and career-minded individual to join our growing team in Seattle as a Health & Safety Specialist.The Health & Safety Specialist is responsible for assessing and ensuring that the Telecon Group and all subsidiaries comply with all Health and Safety (H&S) legislation to promote our SMART Values and safety culture in the workplace and on job sites. This role involves working closely with the Health and Safety Team to align policies and procedures, educate, and train employees.This opportunity includes a Company Vehicle, Health Insurance Benefits, and a Company Match 401K plan.You will have the opportunity to:

  • Conduct site inspections and audits to measure performance and compliance.
  • Lead and facilitate incident/accident investigations, with strong knowledge in root cause analysis, problem-solving, and follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Review and recommend changes to workplace assessments to ensure safe work practices.
  • Support operations on hazard assessments, equipment or process reviews, and suggest improvements.
  • Participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks, and weekly meetings.
  • Lead Health and Safety committees across different business units.
  • Interpret and advise on OSHA CFR 1910 and 1926 regulations.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety policies and legislation.
  • Participate in project kick-offs and promote safety.
  • Identify training needs and support training initiatives, including developing presentations.
  • Conduct site audits/inspections for offices and project sites.
  • Coordinate with client safety personnel to meet safety requirements and reporting obligations.
  • Perform risk assessments and hazard analyses of work functions.
  • Collaborate with management, project managers, and field employees on H&S initiatives.
  • Review and train on emergency measures, conduct drills, and develop corrective actions.
  • Monitor work-related injuries, collaborate with monitoring and management teams to reduce injuries, and facilitate return-to-work programs.
  • Review HSE performance with business managers and support corrective actions.
  • Perform other duties as required.This role is for you if you have the following skills and qualities:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Health and Safety, focusing on construction.
  • Completed OSHA 10- and 30-hour training.
  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR and safety-related certifications.
  • Understanding of workplace hazards and practical application of safety rules and procedures.
  • Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Leadership skills to influence, coach, and implement safety programs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to interact at all organizational levels and adapt to business needs.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with management system development or maintenance.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify practical solutions.
  • Team player, proactive, flexible, and adaptable.
