MedStar Health, a leader in the Healthcare industry across the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region, is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist I to join our dynamic team. This role is vital in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications by providing the highest quality of pharmaceutical care to our patients. Our Clinical Pharmacists play a critical role in the health care process, delivering expert advice on medication management and usage. As a member of our pharmacy team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. Review physician orders for appropriateness of drug therapy and patient medication profiles. Monitor patient drug therapies for interactions, allergies, and contraindications. Provide drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, and patients. Participate in multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care plans. Conduct medication therapy management and patient counseling. Supervise and verify the accurate dispensing of medications by pharmacy technicians. Manage drug inventory and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Expert knowledge in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based healthcare environment Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active Pharmacist License in the state of practice Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) preferred
