Join our healthcare team and experience the best of DC’s vibrant culture, historic neighborhoods, and scenic parks while delivering quality patient care./n /n/nCardiac Stepdown RN Job Details/n /n - Location: Washington, DC 20007 (DC nursing jobs)/n - Assignment Length: 13 weeks (travel nursing contract)/n - Start Date: April 6, 2026/n - End Date: July 6, 2026/n - Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:30)/n - Hours per Week: 36/n - Healthcare Setting: Cardiac Stepdown / IMC (ED Boarder Unit)/n - Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics/n - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend/n - Float Requirement: Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed/n - Scrubs: Any color/n - Parking: Available (cost applies)/n - Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,730 - $1,820 per week/n /n/nRegistered Nurse Qualifications/n /n - Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown or IMC experience/n - At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required/n - Active DC RN license (pending accepted with proof at submission; must be in hand before start)/n - Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (required for cardiac nursing jobs)/n - Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (minimum 80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms)/n - Experience with Cerner charting system/n - Willingness to care for COVID-19 patients/n - Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)/n - Two supervisor references required/n /n/nCardiac Stepdown Nurse Responsibilities/n /n - Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the ED Boarder/IMC unit awaiting inpatient placement/n - Monitor and manage cardiac and telemetry patients, including dysrhythmia interpretation/n - Administer IV therapies, insulin drips, heparin protocols, and manage feeding tubes/n - Care for patients with renal failure, including pre/post hemodialysis management/n - Perform phlebotomy, start and maintain IVs, and manage central/PICC lines/n - Implement isolation precautions and infection control measures/n - Document patient care using Cerner EMR/n - Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, social services)/n - Float to similar or lower acuity units as needed/n /n/n /n Explore Washington, DC’s 20007 area while working in a supportive healthcare environment.
