We are seeking Platform Engineers who are passionate about creating and supporting DevOps tools with emerging technologies to join our team. As a Platform Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One. General Responsibilities: Quality assurance : A strong understanding of software quality assurance principles, security, performance, and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners and engineers, to ensure the final product meets all requirements and appropriate testing has been planned. Translate business requirements into quality specifications and provide quality direction for the product team. Leadership : Ability to guide technical teams to ensure solutions are built with a quality mindset. Continuously improve software engineering practices Oversee and ensure the quality of test plans, test cases, test matrix, and bug reporting. Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience and scalability of your solutions Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization and diversity Utilize scripting languages like Python, SQL, Ruby and groovy, Container Orchestration services including Docker and ECS, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification At least 6 years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, GitHub, or Artifactory) At least 4 years of test automation experience At least 4 years of experience with AWS At least 2 years of team leadership experience Preferred Qualifications: 5 years of experience with AWS 3 years of experience with Xray, Confluence or Zephyr 2 years of experience in Agile practices At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization, or offer any immigration related support for this position (i.e. H1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, TN, E-2, E-3, L-1 and O-1, or any EADs or other forms of work authorization that require immigration support from an employer). The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. Chicago, IL: $144,000 - $164,400 for Lead Platform Engineer McLean, VA: $158,400 - $180,800 for Lead Platform Engineer Riverwoods, IL: $144,000 - $164,400 for Lead Platform Engineer Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
