Description
Do you have a passion for conquering exciting electrical design
problems, shipboard integration, and prototype development for a
wide variety of sophisticated maritime systems?Do you thrive in a
collaborative environment, working across multidisciplinary teams
to field test systems at sea?Do you enjoy working with new
technology to field pioneering systems for our Navy?If so, we 're
looking for someone like you to join our team at APL! We are
actively seeking a Maritime Electrical Engineer to join our Ocean
Systems and Engineering Group. In this role, you will support
advancement of our nation's next generation maritime prototype
systems from concept development of electronic systems to shipboard
installation and testing.As an Electrical Engineer, you will:
Develop shipboard systems applying
core electrical skills in analog, digital and RF circuit/circuit
board design for rapid-fielding maritime systems.Perform testing
and quality control for maritime systems in both a lab environment
and during integration onto Navy platforms.Document designs and
prepare technical reports to support electrical integration and
installation onto maritime platforms.Work with senior engineers to
research new technologies and develop prototypes to analyze new
emerging capabilities.
Qualifications
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you....
Possess a B.S. in Electrical
Engineering or have equivalent work experience.Have 1+ years of
relevant experience in the design, assembly, or testing of
electrical systems.Ability to multi-task across different
electrical subject areas including analog/digital circuit design
and simulation, RF systems and embedded systems.Are willing to work
periodically on a Navy vessel with a diverse team of technical
professionals extended hours periodically required.Are a team
player with the ability to communicate effectively.Can support
CONUS travel required to attend meetings and testing. Position will
require travel to Navy facilities with possible embarkation on U.S.
Naval vessels for short periods. Travel may be required to support
testing and evaluation of equipment on U.S. Naval vessels.Are able
to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start
date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance. If
selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance
investigation and must meet the requirements for access to
classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S.

Have 3+ years of proven experience in
the design, assembly, or testing of electrical systems.Have
experience with Navy electronics and systems.Have experience in
shipboard installations and procedures.Have experience in the
Navy's Temporary Alteration Process (TEMPALT).Have an active Top
